They lack the architectural interest of the doocots of Scotland or the elaborate Persian pigeon towers but their sheer numbers are astonishing. In Cappadocia, pigeons have long been a source of food and fertilizer. The advent of chemical fertilizers has reduced the use of pigeon fertilizer. However, some farmers still maintain their lofts because they insist that the reputation of Cappadocian fruits as the sweetest and most succulent in Turkey is entirely due to the pigeons’ droppings. You can admire the multicoloured rock formations of the famous Pigeon Valley, and Uchisar’s picturesque fairy chimneys. Take great pictures and enjoy.

Now visit the Göreme Open Air Museum where you can see several churches built into caves by Christians between the 10th and 13th centuries. In the museum you have a chance to visit several different churches and chapels: Saklı Church, Kılışlar Churh, St Basil Church, Yılanlı (O nuphrius) Church, St Catherine’s Chapel and Çarıklı (Sandal) Church and the monks’ refectory, tombs, cellars andlarders.
Avanos as known Venessa or Evranos. In which many ateliers for producing ceramics continues in the disrict from the Hitit period. Avanos which has settled on both edges of the Red River (Kızılırmak) is one of the tourism center in the region. The Kızılırmak (red) river separates. It is by this river that the red pottery clay is found from which Avanos derives it’s main livelihood and it’s foremost claim to fame. You will be happy to taste unforgatable tastes in the fascinating atmosphere of Cappadocia.
After Çavuşin you go to Avanos, a small town known for its ceramics. Avanos (the former names are Zu-Vinessa or Venessa), situated by the river of Kizilirmak or Halys River from ancient times as Herodes called it. Avanos which was settled on both edges of the Red River is one of the tourism center in the region. Here is the places inwhich ateliers of ceramics are worked, soil is shapedand cooked in order to make pots and pans. No one cand find such nice handmade arts in anywhere in the world at this price. There you have lunch and also visit a ceramics workshop where you can see how pottery is made and decorated.
The next stop is in Paşabağ where you can see mushroom-like fairy-chimneys with multiple caps and stems situated in the middle of a vineyard. Then walk through Pasabaglar, used to be known as Valley of Monks.
After Lunch in Avanos, you will be able to see Devrent Valley, and also Zelve Valley, you most probably wont want to stop taking pictures of these areas. Devrent valley and its strangely shaped fairy chimneys. In Devrent valley you can view rocks of different shapes, there is one that resembles a camel.
